Who Should Play Bubble Soccer? And Where?
Bubble soccer is an activity that can be enjoyed by individuals within a wide age range. If I were to give it a number, it would be between 11 years to 50 years of age.
I’ll explain why we gave such a range shortly. It is also prudent of us to highlight that age is just one guideline; other factors must be considered as well.
At 11 years of age, most children have developed a certain level of psychomotor skills that will allow them to move around the in the bubble suit whilst kicking a ball. They would more often than not be able to get up from a fall and move around and get back into the fold of the game.
In the industry there are two sizes for bubble soccer; 1.2m or 1.5m by diameter. Both can be used together in the same arena. Generally the smaller ones are meant for younger children or smaller and shorter adults (height of 1.7 and below). The larger ones can be applicable for older teens and adults ( height of above 1.7m)
This is actually one of the most important aspects of determining a safe session of bubble soccer. Bubble Soccer does involve plenty of falling and recovering back to be on your feet. As such, a field or the beach would be an ideal setting for a session of Bubble Soccer.
Now a field that is filled with potholes or that is not level and flat is contrary to safety. As such, the following is how I would rank suitable spaces on the basis that the terrain is flat:
Indoor Court (wooden flooring)
Any hard court
As mentioned, if the supposed space does not have a flat or smooth surface, then it goes down to the bottom of the pecking order. In fact, in the interest of safety; DO NOT even consider it!
Now, earlier we gave an age range. More important than the age range is the physical ability of the individual. If you are nursing existing injuries and you’re in a period of recovery, avoid playing Bubble Soccer. It is one of the more physical team building activities out there in the market. As such, it is important that the individual is healthy and the terrain is safe before activating a session.
Looking forward to your session? So are we!
